When Mamí Makes You Doubt Becoming a Mom, Part 1 & Part 2

This week we have a two-part episode. In part one we'll meet Liz. Liz and her Mexican mom have always had a difficult mother-daughter relationship. Now that Liz is thinking of having children, she worries that because of her strict Catholic upbringing, and her emotionally-detached mother, she may not have become the type of parent she wants to be.

In part two, spiritual life coach Michelle Gomez speaks with Juleyka about what he calls the Latina Mother Wound, and shares strategies to recognize and begin to heal childhood traumas that impact mother-daughter relationships. Then, she offers advice on how to incorporate it all into conscious parenting practices. You can learn more about her work on her website, where you can also download her free e-book The Latina Mother Wound, and her digital healing guid The Healing Hija Accelerator . Michelle also runs a community of sisterhood, Healed Hijas, a FB group of Latina adult daughters at different stages in their Mother Wound healing journey.
